Since its creation by Marguerite Barankitse in 1993, Maison Shalom has invested in restoring dignity to orphans from war, AIDS, street children, minor children in prison and other children in difficulty.

Thus, with a holistic approach, Maison Shalom creates opportunities for the development of the child himself and the transformation of members of his community into actors of sustainable development.

Maison Shalom is convinced that the best solution to guarantee a bright future for each child in an efficient and sustainable way is to develop the community in which he grows up. Maison Shalom's programs include the key areas of integral and sustainable development, namely health, formal education and vocational training, peace education, culture, justice and the promotion of income-generating activities. The people supported are supported until they become independent.

With our unwavering confidence in the accomplishment of our mission, our determination and the friendship of our partners and friends who always hold our hearts and support us, we are confident that our dream of seeing humanity shine with wholeness. of life will become reality.

Vision

To see every human being live with dignity and flourish fully in any society.

Mission

Promote human development by providing psychosocial, educational and economic support to the most needy to empower them and transform them into agents of positive change in their communities.

Guiding principles

We believe that every human being has intrinsic worth, regardless of social status, socioeconomic status, and ethnic, political or religious affiliation.

We share the suffering of our neighbor without feeling sorry for his fate and we help him to get back on his feet

We recognize our limits and are open to any constructive input from our partners to improve our services.

We use the goods received for the common good and in transparency towards all our partners.

We welcome our differences as a source of strength and inspiration. We live together as members of the same family, respecting each other's freedoms, convictions and opinions.

Work done with passion and dedication has a greater impact. We are proud and indebted to our ever-zealous team who work to make every project a success worth celebrating.
