Socioeconomic

Refugees living in Rwanda face problems of various kinds linked mainly to living conditions in exile such as insufficient means of subsistence, despair due to precarious living conditions.

It is to overcome these difficulties that Maison Shalom has set up the project called "Chaîne de Solidarité". This fund consists of training and granting micro-credits to women with children under 5 and to young people between 18 and 35 years old, promoters of micro-projects and working in solidarity groups. of at least 5 people.

By supporting these refugees, Maison Shalom seeks a dual objective: to contribute to the improvement of their socio-economic conditions in exile and to prepare them for a constructive return.

To compensate for the lack of food to fight against malnutrition and related diseases, refugees benefit from jobs in agro-pastoral projects and earn their living and that of their families.
